Michelin-star chef and TV personality Michel Roux Jr will join members of the food sector at the 2024 Food Management Today Industry Awards later this month.

The FMT Food Industry Awards are an annual awards initiative celebrating the success of the British food manufacturing and retailing sectors. The 2024 event will see world-renowned chef Michel Roux Jr handing out accolades to category winners.

Known for running some of London’s top restaurants, Michel Roux followed his father Albert Roux OBE into the food sector, working in numerous restaurants and eventually taking over the famous Le Gavroche in 1991.

The chef was a popular judge and TV presenter on the BBC’s prime-time show, MasterChef: The Professionals, and has fronted several BBC2 programmes. Michel has also authored many best-selling cookbooks, and has been keen to support and develop the UK’s hospitality industry throughout his career.

Publisher of Food Management Today magazine, Graham Yandell MBE, said: “Having worked with Michel Roux Jr before, I know him to be an excellent awards host, and we are incredibly pleased to welcome him back to the FMT Food Industry Awards.”

Celebrating success in 2024

The business luncheon and awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 27th June at the 5-star Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London. Companies, products and individuals will be recognised across 15 categories, with the event honouring those who work hard to keep the nation fed.

The prestigious Food Industry Champion award will presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the UK food sector. Last year, former National Farmers’ Union president Minette Batters took home the award.

Publisher Graham Yandell MBE added: “These awards are a great success story and offer a brilliant opportunity to recognise the innovative work that is seen across the food industry. As the final preparations are now underway for this year’s event, we are in for another fantastic day.”
