Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK has acquired an analytical testing consultancy which focuses on the safety of imported products including food, feed and oils, as well as damaged cargo tests.
Eurofins acquired Salamon & Seaber, which looks at Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Association (FOSFA) testing and Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA) testing.
London-based chemistry analyst Salamon & Seaber was founded in 1910 and is run by Michael Blotz, who has been with the company for over 40 years. Existing staff will be transferred to the Eurofins business and the brand name of Salamon & Seaber will remain.
Mark Carnaghan, managing director of Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK, said: “Salamon & Seaber has built an enviable reputation as the industry recognised expert in FOSFA, GAFTA, commodities and feed testing.
“Like Eurofins, the team truly prides themselves on providing reliable testing services to ensure the highest levels of quality and standards are met for a diverse range of customers. They are experts in their fields and we’re delighted to welcome them into the Eurofins Group.”
Michael Blotz added: “Salamon & Seaber is a unique business, providing a large portfolio of analytical testing services for a diverse range of sectors for clients around the world. Our aim is always to support our clients with a personal service that is both trusted and appreciated.
“We are delighted to join the Eurofins group in a new chapter in our history where these principles will not only be upheld, but also enhanced.”
