The This is Money website has quoted City sources suggesting that Jason Tarry, currently CEO for UK and Ireland at Tesco could be a possible replacement for Morrisons boss, David Potts.

The reports cited on the website say that the private equity firm CD&R, which owns Morrisons, is using a head-hunter to source candidates for a number of key roles at the retailer.

Since being taken over, Morrisons’ David Potts has said that last year was “one of transition” following the CD&R takeover, where changes to improve its product range, price reductions and ability to attract consumer loyalty were put in place.

Trevor Strain, chief operating officer at Morrisons also left the supermarket in 2022 after 13 years with the business.
