One of the major highlights of the food industry calendar is fast approaching as the countdown to the Food Management Today Industry Awards 2022 enters its final phase.
Plans for the 2022 Food Management Today Industry Awards presentation are now getting their finishing touches. All products have been judged and votes counted, with the results eagerly awaited.
The big night is taking place on 25th May at a new venue; the 5-star Royal Lancaster Hotel, near Hyde Park in London. For the first time the ceremony is part of a black-tie evening dinner, rather than the traditional luncheon.
This year the judging team and home economists had a wide range of both innovative and traditional products to get through, over a very busy few days at The Regional Food Academy test kitchens, based at Harper Adams University in Shropshire.
Chief judge of the FMT Awards Keith Fisher was enthusiastic about the standard of products in the mix, commenting: “As always, the Food Management Today Awards set a benchmark for products entered, coming in from a myriad of businesses. These arrive from every corner of the industry.
“As is usual the standards are very high this year and competition is stiff, so the eventual winners really can feel that their products are top drawer and something to shout about.”
Lead organiser of the Awards, Sharon Yandell, added: “The Food Management Today Industry Awards is a top accolade that everyone wants to win in our particular food sector and we are really delighted with the level of participation this year.
“We are set for a wonderful night on 25th May with a first-class dinner and we also have a great host in Matt Tebbutt, from TV’s Saturday Morning Kitchen. This will be an occasion where everyone can celebrate in style.”
Food Management Today (FMT) caught up with 2022 host Matt Tebbutt ahead of the Awards ceremony in May. The exclusive interview, published in the March/April edition of FMT, is available to read here.
