A conference hosted by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) will invite attendees to access industry insight on dairy and meat consumer demand.

Processors, producers, retailers and industry stakeholders will be invited to attend the consumer conference on 16th October, with meat and dairy as the main focus.

Looking at the changing consumer landscape, AHDB will explore trends that are impacting the wider supply chain in the agricultural sector to help the industry “maximise future growth opportunities”.

Steve Evans, AHDB’s Lead Consumer Insight Manager, said: “Building on the success of last year’s conference, we’re excited to share even more research and insights at another face-to-face event this October.”

“Our sessions will delve into the reasons behind consumers’ perceptions… and how this might affect future meat and dairy demand.”

At the conference, AHDB said its Retail and Consumer Insight team will take an in-depth look at consumer trust in British farming, sharing consumer perspectives on health and nutrition. It will also discuss consumer views on sustainability, as well as a study on “reinventing the milk aisle” and foodservice dairy trends.

AHDB will share new primary research on the meat shopper journey, picking out key opportunities and challenges linked to changing in-store meat shopping behaviours. The conference will also feature panel discussions, in addition to meat and dairy breakout sessions and opportunities for networking and delegate questions.

Evans continued: “Our sessions will delve into the reasons behind consumers’ perceptions, not only informing attendees on current consumer food trends, but more importantly how this might affect future meat and dairy demand.”

After the 2024 conference, 97% of attendees said the event had improved their knowledge. A total of 81% of attendees said they would potentially make changes to their business/work within a business as a result of what they had learned.
