With 45 finalists and category voting now completed, the clock is ticking down until the winners are announced at the prestigious black-tie awards ceremony on 18th November.

The Women in Meat Industry Awards is back as an in-person event, hosted by Olympic medallist and broadcaster Katherine Merry. Held at the newly refurbished Hilton London Metropole, the ceremony will celebrate the best of the industry in style.

The initiative recognises the female talent across the meat industry who are continuously breaking boundaries and challenging stereotypes about perceived male domination within the sector.

Meat Businesswoman of the Year

The final award of the night, Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award, will be selected by a panel of judges from one of the evening’s category winners.

Last year the Chair of the International Meat Trade Association Margaret Boanas won the Meat Businesswomen of the Year Award and has since been elected Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers. Margaret will be attending the dinner and the presentations on 18th November.

Commenting on her win last year, Margaret said: “I am delighted to see women being recognised in our industry. Research acknowledges that companies with women in senior management roles perform better than those without, we need the brightest and best across all sectors in order to deal with the challenges we are facing.”
