Organisers of the FMT Food Industry Awards have reported that a wide range of products have been delivered by companies across the food industry as this week’s judging gets underway.
Hundreds of products have arrived at the test kitchens in Milton Keynes for the 2024 FMT Food Industry Awards, the annual programme which recognises the best of the food manufacturing and retailing industries.
Keith Fisher, the chief executive of the Institute of Meat, will once again head up this year’s judging panel. Commenting ahead of the product evaluations, Fisher said: “The range and diversity of products, and the companies and top brands that have entered is amazing. We have a very busy yet exciting judging period ahead of us.”
As part of the judging process, in which products will be evaluated against a strict criteria, the winners and finalists of each product category will be decided. These will be announced at the highly anticipated luncheon and awards ceremony on Thursday 27th June 2024, which is to be held at the 5-star Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.
Legendary chef and popular TV broadcaster Michel Roux Jr will present awards to the winners of each category, culminating in the Food Industry Champion Award, which last year went to president of the NFU Minette Batters.
Lead organiser for the Awards Sharon Yandell said: “We have received a wonderful range of product entries this year, and I extend my thanks to everyone who has taken the time to enter. We have a fantastic and diverse range to evaluate this year.
“The 2023 business luncheon and awards ceremony will be a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues across the industry, and as a networking event it is not to be missed.”
