Frozen food retailer, Iceland is reported to be planning to shut some of its stores, although a full list is yet to be announced.

An Iceland spokesperson said: “We continually review our Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse store portfolio to ensure we’re delivering the best experiences for our customers across the country.”

The retailer currently has 500 stores and 153 Food Warehouse outlets.

This follows on from recent reports that Marks & Spencer also intends to shut 67 of its larger stories. However, the retailer said it plans to open 104 food halls over a three to five year period, in line with the closures.
