Lancashire police has arrested two men after they licked their hands and contaminated food in a Sainsbury’s in Morecambe.
The incident took place on the 4th April at the supermarket on Lancaster Road, where the men had been caught licking their hands and wiping them over meat, fresh produce and fridge handles.
Staff at the store were forced to discard of the effected produce and thoroughly disinfect the store.
Lancashire Police inspector James Martin described the incident as “flabbergasting,” as reported by the BBC.
