European ingredients manufacturer Plant-Ex Ingredients Ltd has announced that it has acquired food technology company Aromacolors.
Aromacolors, which specialises in liquid and powder flavourings and colourings, boasts over 100 years of collective expertise in the production and conception of food flavourings.
Plant-Ex said this acquisition would “significantly strengthen” its operational footprint across Europe, marking a “major milestone” in the company’s continued global expansion.
It also said that Aromacolors’ business aligned with the Plant-Ex portfolio, and the move would aim to deliver “substantial logistical and commercial advantages” in a post-Brexit market. Plant-Ex stated that the acquisition would eliminate customs delays and reduce both time to market and operational costs for customers throughout the EU and beyond.
The acquisition comes after Plant-Ex received £9 million in funding in September 2024 to facilitate its international expansion.
Giles Drewett, CEO and founder of Plant-Ex, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Aromacolors into the Plant-Ex group. Their exceptional product range and technical knowhow are a natural fit with our vision and values. This acquisition is not just about growth, it’s about reinforcing our position as a dominant force in the natural ingredients sector.
“Our customers across Europe and globally will benefit from enhanced local support, rapid sample turnaround and increased manufacturing capacity, enabling us to serve with greater speed, scale and sophistication.”
Edward Budzulak, CEO of Aromacolors, commented: “This marks an exciting new chapter for Aromacolors. Becoming part of Plant-Ex opens up new opportunities to enhance our capabilities and bring even more value to our customers across Europe. With a broader product offering and access to expanded resources, we are well positioned to support continued innovation and growth in the European market.”
