Princes Limited, the UK food and drink manufacturer, has had a record number of applications for its Commercial Graduate Programme this year.

Princes, which produces licensed products such as Branston Baked Beans and Batchelors peas, received over 855 applications this year for its six available places, up 15%. The company revealed that applications had to close seven weeks early due to the rise in demand.

Joe Dent, Princes’ Group HR director, said: “Princes offers its commercial graduates the opportunity to be part of a dynamic business that invests in its people and we are delighted to have had a record number of applications this year.

“People are at the heart of what we do at Princes and we’re looking forward to welcoming our new set of graduates into the business over the coming months.”

“Last year’s cohort of graduates had an interesting year responding to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and we are delighted with how flexible they were during a very tricky time.

“We made our offers to them last March just a few days before the country went into the first lockdown and it was important to us that the Graduate Programme carried on as normal, albeit virtually.

“People are at the heart of what we do at Princes and we’re looking forward to welcoming our new set of graduates into the business over the coming months.”

Gemma Fallon, Princes’ resourcing manager, added: “We are always looking for motivated and ambitious people to join us.

“Our commercial graduates spend eight months at a time rotating across Sales, Marketing and Buying and gaining real experience. During this two-year period, they get a really good grounding in the company and our many different brands.

“We look for ambitious people who can hit the ground running and, in return, we offer a highly competitive salary and a great benefits package.

“Many of our graduates go on to mentor other graduates, passing on their experience and helping them to settle in.”
