Product judging and evaluations has started for this year’s FMT Food Industry Awards at the Regional Food Academy test kitchens, located at Harper Adams University, Shropshire.

Once again the panel of judges is headed up by the chief executive of the Institute of Meat Keith Fisher, who is said to be very impressed with the standard of entries submitted. Over the coming days judges will taste, sniff, touch, view and consider a wide range of entries from right across the food processing and retailing industry to an exacting criteria.

Fisher commented: “When looking at the diversity of products and the standard of entry, and when considering the companies and top brands that have entered, we have an exciting few days in prospect. These Awards are truly leading the field in the scope of what they cover and how they are judged.”

Lead organiser of the awards Sharon Yandell added “The judges have a big job over the coming days to select the best of the best.

“It is always so exciting to receive such a fantastic selection of products from so many leading companies large and small and it is always a pleasure to be at the test kitchens at Harper Adams, to be staging the judging again.

“We are also looking forward to the popular awards ceremony evening taking place as a black-tie dinner at the 5-star Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on June 6th this year. It is a superb venue and I am confident it will be a spectacular evening and a great place to network.”
