The winners of the annual Women In Meat Industry Awards were unveiled at the 5-star Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Friday 29th November.
The awards, which are organised by Meat Management magazine, recognise the important contributions that women make to the meat sector.
The initiative is driven by reader nominations and votes, culminating in a black-tie dinner and awards ceremony where the 13 category winners were announced.
Nompilo Sibanda of Pilgrim’s Europe took home the coveted title of Meat Businesswoman of the Year 2023; and the Rising Star Award was presented to Leisia Tudor of Dunbia Group.
TV presenter and tennis star Annabel Croft, who handed out the accolades, commented: “Meat plays such an important part in our diet and it was such a pleasure to be involved with this event. It was clear at the presentations this evening how much these awards mean to the recipients and it was a really special occasion. Well done to everyone involved.”
