UK Sausage Week will return this coming Monday 28th October, starting off with a celebration lunch at the newly refurbished and reopened Butchers’ Hall in London, where the UK Supreme Sausage Champion will be revealed alongside a host of regional and category winners.

The competition to find this year’s winners took place back in September at the Regional Food Academy test kitchens, located at Harper Adams University. The judging team, including experts from Ladies in Pigs (LIPS) was headed up by Chief Judge Keith Fisher. Keith said: “Entries this year from manufacturers’ and retailers, plus foodservice, were outstanding. My thanks to our judging team who did a brilliant job. We now have the results and there are some very worthy winners.”

All results will be announced and presented at the sell-out celebration lunch in London on 28th October which is hosted by the 2019 UKSW Ambassador – TV chef and food businesswoman Lesley Waters.

With many butchers, supermarkets, foodservice and manufacturers across the UK involved, winners of the UKSW Competition often report significant increases in sausage sales. Companies or retailers who innovate and get involved can also maximise on the profile UKSW offers. The week normally attracts significant national and local media interest and coverage.

All results will be announced and presented at the sell-out celebration lunch in London on 28th October…

Publisher of Meat Management magazine, who organise the annual UKSW, Graham Yandell commented: “Over recent year’s the innovation that has been introduced into product ranges for sausages has been amazing and not only are sausages good value and safe to eat, but are very often good fun too. As a sausage lover I am looking forward to it.

“My thanks must go to our partners, our judging team and to everyone involved who helped us stage the competition, and the forthcoming celebration lunch on Monday 28th October at the newly refurbished Butchers’ Hall. As always we expect UK Sausage Week to start off with a banger! We are always delighted to hear about all the activities that will be going on around the UK over the coming days.”
