Food and Drink Wales has declared that food producers from Wales are set to “take over” Spitalfields Market in London on the weekend following St David’s Day (2nd-3rd March 2024) to celebrate Welsh food and drink.
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample and array of Welsh food, from traditional Welsh cakes to charcuterie, which Food and Drink Wales said would “reflect the diverse landscape, culture and heritage of Wales”.
It said that a key highlight of the event would be the pop-up kitchen, which will feature live cookery demonstrations from TV cook Nerys Howell.
Some of the producers selling at the market include Carmarthen Deli by Albert Rees; Cawl & Co.; Cwmfarm Charcuterie Products; Rachel’s Dairy; Radnor Preserves; The Blaenafon Cheddar Co.; and The Rouge Welsh Cake Company.
The event forms part of the wider food campaign #CaruCymruCaruBlas #LoveWalesLoveTaste, and the market promises to be an “immersive cultural experience”.
Joanna Morgan, director of Radnor Preserves, said: “At Radnor Preserves we believe that every jar tells a story. Our handcrafted preserves capture the essence of Wales.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to taste the love and tradition that goes into each jar, from our award-winning marmalade to luxury chutneys, Radnor Preserves brings a slice of Welsh magic to your table.”
