The Westminster Food and Nutrition Forum has announced a new ‘Next steps for food policy in England‘ conference, which will take place on Thursday 21st March 2024.
The conference will discuss the future for food policy and the agri-food sector in England, and takes place as attention turns to options in anticipation of the next parliament.
Conference attendees will hear from a range of speakers, including Professor Tim Lang, Emeritus Professor of Food Policy at the University of London; Anna Taylor, executive director, The Food Foundation; Daniel Zeichner MP, Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Dustin Benton, Green Alliance; Richard Griffiths, British Poultry Council; and a senior speaker confirmed from Kantar.
The Forum said it would be an opportunity for key stakeholders and policymakers to discuss the way forward for policy, including approaches to addressing “cost-of-living and supply chain issues” and their implications for policy delivery.
Other discussions will focus on food security, food-related public health and sustainable agriculture and food production, as well as support that may be needed for consumers, the agri-food sector and wider stakeholders.
