Another leading supplier to the meat industry has joined the growing list of trade partners who will support the new annual Women In Meat Awards this year. Leading equipment supplier Marel has agreed to partner the Meat Businesswoman Award – Trade Body category, one of eight categories to be recognised at a prestigious black tie dinner in London on Friday 16th November.
The Awards will celebrate excellence every year from 2018 onward and are designed to recognise the wealth of female talent working in today’s UK meat industry. The Awards campaign, which will commence in June this year for voting and nominations, will recognise and highlight the following eight categories:
Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award
Meat Businesswoman Award – Foodservice
Meat Businesswoman Award – Retailing
Meat Businesswoman Award – Manufacturing
Meat Businesswoman Award – Craft Butchery
Meat Businesswoman Award – Trade Body
Meat Businesswoman Award – Wholesaling
The Rising Star Award
Graeme Rolinson, regional general manager for Marel – UK & Ireland operations, said that that the company is delighted to be involved with the new initiative, commenting: “This is a timely and innovative Awards programme and we at Marel are right behind the concept. There is a wide selection of brilliant talent in the UK meat industry and recognising that talent and encouraging it is a very positive development. I know we can also look forward to a tremendous event on 16th November, and I am sure coming together and rewarding the best will be appreciated by everybody involved. We already partner the Meat Management Industry Awards each year and this new Awards programme will, I am sure, be the start of another important and prestigious initiative from Meat Management, highlighting the modern role of women in the UK meat business.”
Publisher of Meat Management magazine Graham Yandell added: “The response to the Women In Meat Awards has been really positive, exceeding our expectations, and we welcome Marel as a partner. Everyone at Meat Management magazine is really delighted that the Women In Meat Awards concept has been so well received. Voting and nominations start online in June and I am very confident that the programme will culminate in a fantastic evening on 16th November. Judging from the response so far, the black tie dinner is set to be a sell-out. So the message is book early!”
Michelle Ingerfield of Meat Management added: “Only three partnership opportunities now remain. Any company or organisation wishing to become a partner should contact me as soon as possible on 01908 613323, or email me on michelle.i@yandellmedia.com.
