The inaugural Baking Forum, to be held on 19th May has received a resounding thumbs up from The Federation of Bakers and the baking industry.

The Federation of Bakers were keen to endorse The Baking Forum and see it as an opportunity to help bring the industry together. CEO Andrew Pyne commented: “The food and drink industry has been through a set of unprecedented challenges over the last 5 years. The bakery industry has risen to them all, but now is the time to take a strategic overview of the head winds. Discussing and addressing the issues collectively, will help secure the wider bakery industry in a long-term standing to better manage the issues, including sustainability, labour markets, consumer behaviours, supply chains, and government regulations.”

A spokesperson for The Baking Forum commented: “We’re delighted that something born out of frustration with other ‘industry events’ becoming increasingly tenuous, has come to fruition as something so hugely positive, relevant and stimulating.”

They continued: “We believe the focus on: the market place and its challenges, sustainability, together with discussions on how to attract new people to our industry, will appeal to all bakers of bread, cake and other baked goods, as well as suppliers to the industry; whilst at the same time supporting the Bakers Benevolent fund.”
