TIPA Compostable Packaging has announced it has acquired Bio4Pack, a European leader in compostable packaging solutions.
TIPA develops and manufactures compostable packaging, which provides a circular solution for plastic waste. Its packaging solutions for the entire supply chain includes films and laminates for packaging manufacturers and custom packaging applications for food and fashion brands.
Similarly, Bio4Pack is a specialist in the field of compostable, sustainable packaging and is based in Germany.
TIPA said that its acquisition of Bio4Pack aligns with its strategy of “collaborating with industry leaders, expanding both geographically and in product portfolio and promoting sustainable solutions to combat the global plastic crisis.” As part of the deal, additional sales representatives will be deployed at Bio4Pack locations in the Netherlands and Germany, as well as in local warehousing facilities.
The acquisition also comes as the company launches three new products: paper packaging from agricultural waste, trays and nets.
Daphna Nissenbaum, CEO and co-founder of TIPA commented: “There is a great value and strength in cooperating with other players in the sustainable packaging solutions industry. The acquisition of Bio4Pack enables us to expand our existing expertise and portfolio and continue to grow TIPA’s custom packaging solutions.”
Patrick Gerritsen, Bio4Pack CEO said: “It is an honour to be acquired by TIPA, as this company is well-known throughout Europe – and around the world – for their innovative packaging. With both companies’ extensive experience in this field, I am confident we will be able to significantly reduce plastic pollution on Earth.”
