The premier awards initiative recognising the contribution made by women to the UK meat manufacturing and retailing sectors, the Women In Meat Industry Awards, has officially launched its 2024 programme.

“The annual Women In Meat Industry Awards is incredibly popular and we are so excited to host it for another year. In essence, it’s an opportunity for the industry to highlight the people at the heart of its operations, who really make a difference,” explained the editor of Meat Management magazine, Joanna Thomson.

The annual initiative, which culminates in a glittering 5-star awards ceremony held in London on 29th November, is made up of nominations from (and voted for by) members of the UK meat industry.

From foodservice to craft butchery, a wide variety of subsectors are spotlighted by the awards to ensure that individuals from across the industry are recognised for their achievements.

Readers of Meat Management magazine and members of the British and Irish meat sectors are invited to nominate individuals across 12 awards categories. A full list of this year’s award categories together with an easy to use online nomination form can be found here.

Thomson added: “With the 2024 campaign now underway, you can now nominate candidates across a range of various categories. You might nominate one person or several, the main thing is to get those names put forward as soon as possible.”
