Meat Industry Awards winners unveiled at exclusive ceremony

Members of the UK meat industry gathered at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 19th September to find out the winners of the 2024 Meat Management Industry Awards.

Members of the UK meat industry gathered at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday 19th September where the winners of the 2024 Meat Management Industry Awards were revealed.

The Meat Management Industry Awards is an annual initiative that celebrates the successes of the UK meat industry.

Manufacturers, supermarkets, suppliers, trade organisations, catering and independent retailers were in attendance as this year’s black-tie dinner and awards ceremony guests saw TV presenter and former England International rugby player Martin Bayfield take to the stage to announce the winners.

Young Manager of the Year – Jonathan Hendry – assistant site operations manager, Dunbia, Carnaby

The Meat Management Excellence Award – Katie Doherty, CEO of the International Meat Trade Association (IMTA)


This year, a special Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Bob Bansback OBE. An occasional and exclusive award, it is given in a surprise presentation to an outstanding candidate who has a record of long-service to the industry.

Graham Yandell MBE, publisher of Meat Management magazine, who host the awards, said: “We have had a fantastic evening at the Meat Management Industry Awards, and once again it is an absolute pleasure to be involved.

“This event is one of the biggest in the UK meat industry calendar and seeing all these people, some new and some more familiar faces, attending to support each other is truly amazing. Thank you to our award partners and everyone who has been involved in this year’s awards initiative!”
