The product nomination process for UK Sausage Week is now open, as organisers encourage sausage producers to get involved with the initiative.

The product nomination process for UK Sausage Week is now open, as organisers encourage sausage producers to get involved with the initiative.

Supermarkets, foodservice, butchers and manufacturers from across the UK will be taking part in this year’s UK Sausage Week,

A celebration lunch will kick off the festivities on Monday 27th October at Butchers’ Hall in London, marking the official start of UK Sausage Week. Winners of each category will be revealed at the lunch, as well as the UK Supreme Sausage Champion, which is judged from the winners of each category.

  • Best Traditional Pork Sausage
  • Best Beef Sausage
  • Best Lincolnshire Sausage
  • Best Cumberland Sausage
  • Best Chipolata Sausage
  • Best Gluten Free / Free From Sausage
  • Best Chicken Sausage
  • Best Speciality Sausage
  • Best Cocktail Sausage
  • Best Frozen Sausage
  • UK Sausage Week – Supreme UK Champion

Sausages entered into the national competition will be judged in August, with the deadline for product nominations set for Friday 1st August. Those entering their products will receive full instructions on how and where to send their sausage products once they have submitted their nominations.

Publisher of Food Management Today and Meat Management magazine, Graham Yandell MBE commented: “This is the UK’s biggest sausage competition and concludes with a prestigious lunch on 27th October at Butchers’ Hall, London at the start of UK Sausage Week.

“It really is the one to win and once again we are expecting many hundreds of entries from all sectors of the meat industry.”
