To mark the opening of its new store in Cowdenbeath, Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) visited Lidl to hand out Scotch Beef PGI and haggis burgers to customers.

QMS was offering shoppers the Burns’ Night alternative as part of Lidl’s celebration of the Cowdenbeath store being the company’s 100th in Scotland. The first 100 shoppers on the day were also offered a free goody bag when they entered the store.

The burgers consisted of Scotch Beef with a caramelised red onion chutney to provide a twist on the classic Burns Night dinner of haggis, neeps and tatties.

Kirsty Fox, marketing manager at Quality Meat Scotland, said: “We were delighted to treat Lidl’s Cowdenbeath customers to our special Burns’ Night Scotch Beef and Haggis Burgers as part of their 100th store celebrations.

“Lidl are proud supporters of Scottish suppliers and stock a range of different Scotch Beef PGI products. We hope that by letting shoppers sample our Burns’ recipe it will encourage them to buy Scotch products in future which are known for their high quality and great taste.”
