With another high level of entries this year, YPL Exhibitions & Events has extended the deadline for nominating and entering sausages into the 2019 UK Sausage Week competition until Thursday 29th August.

There are 14 categories available in the UK Sausage Week competition including 8 regional winners in England and, following expanded coverage in 2017, categories for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland too.

In addition the competition includes a supermarket category, and own label manufacturers category, as well as the coveted overall Supreme UK Sausage Champion.

Pam Brook, editor of Food Management Today commented: “As usual entries are substantial and the stage is set for a great competition. The organisers have added a couple of days so there’s still time to get your best sellers in front of the judges for a good grilling!”

“Winners will see a major boost to trade, ” says Emma Cash, “to enter is easy and free and as always you have to be in it to win it. The message is have a go. If you have great sausages make sure you nominate now.”

The Awards presentations will take place at a lunch ceremony at the newly reopened Butchers’ Hall to kick start the annual week, which this year runs from Monday 28th October through to 3rd November.

To nominate sausages by the new deadline of 29th August and for category information visit www.uksausageweek.com/product-entry.
