The Federation of Bakers has formally announced that the organisation will now be managed as a private limited company, Federation of Bakers Limited.

The announcement was made at the first Annual General Meeting of the newly formed company.

Mike Roberts, chairman, FBL.

The change follows a review by the Federation of Bakers of its constitution and rules during the past year, which concluded with the transition of the organisation to a company, limited by guarantee without a share capital.

Gordon Polson, CEO FBL.

Mike Roberts, chairman of the Federation of Bakers Ltd said: “This change will enable the Federation to continue its work on behalf of its members representing, promoting and defending the bread industry with the added security for members that this new company brings.”

Gordon Polson, chief executive of the Federation of Bakers Ltd added: “The last 12 months have been dominated by regulatory issues and the ever-evolving developments on Brexit. FOB Ltd continues to work hard on behalf of its members to closely monitor these fast-moving developments and emerging challenges and opportunities for the industry.”

The Annual General Meeting was held ahead of the start of the 36th AIBI Congress in Manchester, which runs from 30th May to 2nd June and will consider ‘The Bakery of the Future’.
