Meat industry trade body the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) has announced that its 2024-25 student placement opportunity is open for applications to those studying marketing, food science or agri-business related courses.

As stated in the job description, the post holder will assist in the promotion of beef and lamb, communication with primary and secondary schools, stakeholders and consumers and the provision of a professional and comprehensive administration service.

LMC said that the role is suitable for students studying marketing, food science or agri-business related courses, and applications are welcome from those who are required to complete a sandwich placement part way through their course.

Sarah Toland, LMC education and consumer promotions manager, said: “This is an exciting role in which a student can make meaningful contributions to the marketing, communications and education programme activities which LMC deliver.

“The LMC placement programme has been running for almost 10 years with great success recorded to date. While LMC provide mentorship, personal and professional opportunities for development for students, we too benefit from their varied skill sets and fresh perspectives.

“The post is now live on our website and we welcome applications from interested students by 4pm on Tuesday 16th January. It is envisaged that this paid placement will commence in June 2024 and run for 12 months until June 2025.”
