Cornwall-based pasty company Ginsters has revealed that Stephanie Hildon has been appointed managing director.

Hildon, who is currently chief executive of Langmead Herbs, will step into her role from 7th May 2024. She will take over from current MD Sam Mitchell, who will become the managing director for the Savoury Pastry at parent company Samworth Brothers.

After gaining a degree in mathematics, Hildon began a career in consumer marketing, spending 18 years building a foundation in brand marketing, brand strategy and sales skills in both consultancy and client-side roles. She then moved to a chief executive role at an upholstery company, before moving to Langmead Herbs in 2018 after 25 years in commercial roles.

During her time at Langmead Herbs, Hildon has almost doubled its value, growing it from a £13 million business to a £24 million business. Ginsters said she achieved this by turning loss to profit through a combination of winning new retailer contracts and improving operational efficiencies.

On her appointment, Hildon said: “I am thrilled to be taking on the role of MD at Ginsters. It’s a phenomenal brand with a rich history and a firmly established position as a category leader.

“Recent work from the brand has been incredible and has delivered real cut through and I can’t wait to join the team and be part of the brand’s continuing success.”

Sam Mitchell, MD of Savoury Pastry at Samworth Brothers, commented: “Leading the Ginsters team has been an absolute privilege. I am delighted I will still be working with the Ginsters brand in my new role at Samworth Brothers and am confident that Stephanie will do a brilliant job as MD.

“I wish Stephanie huge success in her new role, and look forward to working together in an exciting new chapter for Ginsters.”
