Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a number of ministerial appointments following a Cabinet reshuffle on 12th June.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a number of ministerial appointments following a Cabinet reshuffle on 12th June.

The appointments were officially approved by the King as part of the process, and took immediate effect.

Farming Minister Dame Angela Eagle was appointed to the position of Minister of State (Security Minister) jointly in the Home Office and the Cabinet Office, a post that she takes over from Dan Jarvis, who was appointed as Secretary of State for Defence following the resignation of John Healey on 11th June.

Stephen Morgan MP was announced as Minister of State in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), taking over from Dame Angela Eagle.

He was previously Junior Lord of the Treasury (Government Whip) from 7th September 2025 to 12th June 2026 and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for Early Education) at the Department for Education between 9th July 2024 and 7th September 2025.

Other appointments include:

  • Lord Leong CBE as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department of Business and Trade
  • Emma Foody MP, Assistant Whip, House of Commons
  • Lord Collins of Highbury as Parliamentary Secretary

The Prime Minister also appointed the Rt Hon Sir Alan Campbell MP, Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons, to the Cabinet.
