The annual Women In Meat Industry Awards recognise the important and significant contributions that women make across the UK meat sector and nominations are now being requested for this year’s initiative.
Lead organiser of the awards Sharon Yandell commented: “The Women In Meat Industry Awards are back for 2022 and kicking off by offering the opportunity for companies and individuals across the industry to nominate candidates. This is your chance to propose those special people that you consider to be outstanding.
“These awards are unique, highly popular and more importantly are driven by company or individual nominations and votes to highlight people who really make a difference.”
With the new campaign underway, readers of Food Management Today and Meat Management magazine, or those from the wider industry, can nominate candidates in a range of various categories. Sharon added: “You might nominate one person or several, the main thing is to get those names put forward as soon as possible.”
Once the nomination process completes, and this must be by the final deadline of 11th July, the selected finalists will go through to the voting stage of the awards.
Winners are finally revealed at a five-star ceremony and dinner in London on 11th November. This year the event returns to the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, which has been closed during the Covid pandemic.
Liz Hendley the editor of MM and FMT commented: “Women make a huge and important contribution to the success of the UK meat industry and recognising this is what our awards are all about.
“Nominations are followed by voting and both aspects of the process are made online, so it couldn’t be easier.”
The voting response from previous years has been phenomenal and organisers anticipate that nominations and votes will once again be very substantial this year. The ceremony in November is also set for a sell-out.
There are two new categories being added for 2022 as the initiative goes from strength to strength, and these are specifically to cover more directly the independent retailing sector and the poultry sector.
