Details of the finalists are now live at the official website for this year’s Women In Meat Industry Awards. This follows a wide range of nominations from right across the UK meat industry.

After going online in 2020, because of Covid-19 restrictions, the unique annual awards ceremony will once again return to its usual format as an in-person event this year, culminating in a black-tie dinner and ceremony with an after party at the Hilton London Metropole on 18th November.

Over 9,000 votes were received last year and organisers are hopeful for another substantial response this time around. Final deadline for voting is 15th September and the process is quick and easy.

In 2020 the Awards recognised 10 winners in different categories with the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award going to Margaret Boanas of IMTA.

This year’s Women In Meat Industry Awards will be an in-person event once again.

Olympic medallist, broadcaster, and sports personality Katharine Merry has now been confirmed as the celebrity host for the 2021 Women In Meat Industry Awards dinner and ceremony, having presented the event online in 2020. She said: “I am really delighted to participate again in 2021 and I look forward to meeting real people at a live ceremony which I know is going to be amazing.”

Editor of Meat Management magazine Jane Connolly added: “We are particularly delighted that Katharine can join us to host the evening in person having done so online last year and I hope as many readers as possible will now vote for the 2021 finalists.”

  • Details of all 10 categories and finalists together with online voting can be found at www.womeninmeatawards.com. Tables and tickets for 18th November can also be booked at the official website.
