On Thursday 15th September, the Meat Management Meat Industry Awards ceremony and black-tie dinner will return to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

The annual initiative is the biggest event in the UK meat trade calendar that honours exceptional products from across the food industry. From Britain’s Best Meat Pie to Manufacturer of the Year, a range of subsectors and skills are celebrated across the 20 award categories.

This year, once again the much-anticipated awards ceremony and black-tie dinner takes place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and will be staged on Thursday 15th September. The 2022 awards ceremony will be hosted by internationally renowned entertainer and America’s Got Talent winner Paul Zerdin.

Bringing the industry together

Managing editor and publisher of Meat Management magazine Graham Yandell said: “Our sincere condolences go out to the Royal family at this time of mourning, following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

“In regard to the annual meat industry awards and after careful consideration, we felt that in the circumstances it is important to clarify to everyone involved that the awards ceremony next week on 15th September will definitely go ahead.

“Due to the complicated logistics of running such a major event, with so many people and businesses involved, we would be unable to reschedule at such short notice and would be unable to secure a suitable venue and AV arrangements.

“We will therefore bring the industry together for a unique night of networking and positivity at the award presentations next week as originally planned and scheduled.”

Travel guidance

Guests who had planned on travelling to the venue by train can now do so. The scheduled railway strike action on 15th and 17th September has been suspended, following an announcement from the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT).
