Many leading lights of the UK sausage sector gathered at Butchers’ Hall yesterday [Monday 28th October], to celebrate the launch of this year’s UK Sausage Week.
In addition, winners of the 2024 UK Sausage Week competition were also announced at the luncheon with presentations made across nine categories, including the UK Supreme Sausage Champion.
UK Sausage Week (UKSW) runs all this week from 28th October to 3rd November, and kicked off with the Butchers’ Hall luncheon in London.
The sell out occasion featured a sparkling drinks reception and sausage themed lunch, with sausages supplied and sponsored by Owen Taylor & Sons.
The 2024 UKSW winners are:
Best Pork Sausage – Porky Whites Signature Surrey Sausage
Best Specialty Sausage – Cheese and Pickle Pork Sausage – Country Harvest
Best Lincolnshire Sausage – Lincolnshire Sausage – Bowers Butchers
Best Cumberland Sausage – Cumberland Sausage – Owen Taylor & Sons
Best Beef Sausage – Beef & Sweet Chilli Sausage – Burtons Butchers
Best Gluten Free / Free From Sausage – Co-op Irresistible Cumberland Pork Sausages (Gluten Free) – Pilgrim’s Europe

UK Supreme Sausage Champion – Porky Whites Signature Surrey Sausage

The overall UK Supreme Sausage Champion was chosen from the category winners by a judging panel, with judges having deemed Porky Whites’ Signature Surrey Sausage as a standout banger.

Special guest, the Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers, John Allton Jones, announced the finalists and the category partner for each award announced the winner.
