A sell-out occasion in 2024, once again the popular lunchtime ceremony will take place this year at the 5-star Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington London.

Graham Yandell MBE of the Food Management Today Awards said he was delighted: “Gary is a fantastic entertainer and we are so pleased that he can join our much anticipated event on 26th June.

“The lunchtime ceremony is a highlight of the year when we recognise products, companies, people and suppliers who make up the sector. It is an event we all look forward to.”

A show business thoroughbred

Gary Wilmot was born into show business and has worked for over 40 years in TV, film and theatre. In fact, his father was the bass voice in the Southlanders, famous for singing “I Am A Mole And I Live In A Hole”.

Gary started out his career as a comedian and impressionist winning the New Faces TV show in 1978. Subsequently television specials, guest appearances and a variety of series gained him a national profile.

In 1989 Gary moved into theatre and played Bill Snibson in the award winning musical Me And My Girl, (Adelphi Theatre), his first West End role, which he performed to critical acclaim for two years.

Since then Gary’s career has seen him staring in many and varied stage shows and musicals, both touring and in the West End. These include Wicked, Oklahoma, The Wizard of Oz, Oliver, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and many, many more.

Gary has also featured as the resident Pantomime Dame at the London Palladium each year since the Olivier winning production started back in 2017.

Events organiser Sharon Yandell added: “I have seen Gary several times at the annual Palladium panto and he was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see him at our awards this year and I know all our guests are in for a real treat.”
