The investment will total more than £100 million over three years, with more than £40 million planned during the 2026/27 financial year. This will include increased skilled career opportunities in modern food manufacturing, as well as greater capacity at sites and more sustainable margins to “support future reinvestment”.

The poultry processor said the investment would strengthen its UK operations, allowing it to upgrade facilities and introduce next-generation technology across its supply chain.

Avara CEO Chris Hall commented: “This ambitious UK investment programme ensures Avara builds on its existing position as a strong and sustainable partner to our customers supplying the affordable locally sourced poultry, produced to high standards, that British consumers demand.”

“This is a major investment in the future of our business and in the resilience of the UK poultry supply chain.”

Planned investment across the company’s chicken supply chain includes next-generation cutting capability and new automation, which Avara said would create a “more efficient and resilient” food supply chain.

Hall continued: “This is a major investment in the future of our business and in the resilience of the UK poultry supply chain that reflects confidence in our people, our facilities and the long-term future of UK poultry production.

“Our customers and consumers need a supply chain that is competitive, reliable and able to grow. Over the last three years we have completed a comprehensive restructuring of our business delivering improved financial performance. This investment plan meets the growing consumer demand for affordable, locally sourced poultry produced to high standards, while creating a stronger and more sustainable platform for the future.”
