Jim Fox, head of public affairs GB at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Scotland.

Fox takes over from Dr Gary Stephenson from Devro, who served as FDF Chair for six years. The FDF stated that he “brings a wealth of experience which will support the FDF’s members with key priorities” including supporting balanced diets and building a sustainable food system.

Fox said: “FDF Scotland is a very powerful voice for our vibrant and diverse industry. I am extremely proud to have been appointed as its new Chair and take over at a time when the organisation is strong and resilient.

“I intend to continue to shape the organisation to deliver the very best conditions for its members, Government and other stakeholders ensuring growth, investment and employment while continuing to deliver high quality, nutritious and affordable food and drink.

“My huge thanks to Dr Gary Stephenson for his excellent work as FDF Scotland Chair over the last six very challenging years.”

Dr Gary Stephenson said: “It was a real privilege to serve as Chair of FDF Scotland for the past six years, helping guide Scotland’s largest manufacturing sector to navigate the impact of Brexit, Covid and developing sustainability requirements, ably assisted by their dedicated and professional team.

“I am handing over to someone I have known for many years and has the interests of the Scottish industry and politics at heart and will use his experience to shine a guiding light for this exciting and diverse industry.”

FDF Scotland’s CEO, David Thomson, added: “I would like to thank Gary for his time in supporting and representing FDF members based in Scotland through what has been an extremely challenging time for our industry. We are delighted that he will continue to play an important role as a member of FDF Scotland’s Board.

“Jim’s experience in a range of policy areas and in navigating the political landscape will be of great value to the FDF and our members. This will help to ensure the importance of our vital food and drink industry is understood by policy makers.”
