The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a food alert after all frozen products from food producer Inarah’s Frozen Food Ltd were labelled as unsafe to eat.

The Agency cited food safety concerns as the reason for all frozen products to be removed from sale.

Food businesses and consumers were told that frozen products in Inarah’s Frozen Food, Inarah’s Fine Food and New York Crispy packaging may be unsafe to eat. FSA went on to say that the products “should not be consumed”.

It highlighted that Inarah’s Frozen Foods Ltd had been “unable to demonstrate that the products in this alert have been produced and handled safely”, and said that any products that have not met food hygiene and safety requirements pose a risk to consumers, and should be disposed of safely.

FSA calls on enforcement authorities to ensure products are withdrawn

The affected products have one of the below company names and addresses on the labels:

  • Inarah Frozen Foods LTD, Regal Drive, Walsall, WS2 9HQ
  • Four Seasons Food Group, Unit 7-8 Monarch Works, Elswick Road, Fenton Industrial Estate, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2SH
  • KBH Foods, BD9 4TS

All frozen products with either ‘Inarah’s Frozen Foods’, ‘Inarah’s Fine Foods’ or ‘New York Crispy’ with one of the above addresses were included in the alert.

The FSA has asked enforcement authorities to ensure that businesses who have received the affected products take action to ensure that these products are withdrawn from the market and, where there have been retail sales, recalled. It has also asked the local authorities to inform FSA of product withdrawal and recall actions.
