The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is advising consumers that some food products may now contain other refined or fully refined food grade vegetable oils, despite being labelled as containing sunflower oil. 

Organisations from across the UK food industry have spoken out about the government’s plans to further delay the introduction of import controls on EU goods.

A project, which aims to improve efficiency in supply chains and reduce food waste, is seeking leading UK retailers to participate in tests and trials to help improve food traceability.

Opinions are split amongst representatives from the UK agricultural and food industries and the Trade and Agricultural Committee (TAC) on whether the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the UK and Australia will have a positive impact on the industries as a whole.

Defra announced the lifting of a mandatory housing order that will see 27 million organic and free range hens permitted outside again from 2nd May.
