Montezuma recalls chocolate bars due to undeclared nuts

Montezuma’s Chocolates Limited is recalling its Hot Pickle (Chilli and Lime) Milk Chocolate Bars because of undeclared almonds (nuts).

Montezuma’s Chocolates Limited is recalling its Hot Pickle (Chilli and Lime) Milk Chocolate Bars because of undeclared almonds (nuts).

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), a packaging error has meant that some packs may now contain almonds as an ingredient. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts).

Montezuma’s Chocolates Limited has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell its members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

The company is asking consumers who have an allergy to almonds (nuts) and have bought the product to return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
