Inflation reached a 10-year high in the 12 months to November 2021 with supply chain disruption and the price of raw materials contributing to rising food prices for consumers.
According to a benchmark United Nations (UN) report, global food commodity prices fell in July for the second consecutive month.
A report by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) suggested that consumers were likely to see food prices increase later this year as cost pressures and Brexit red tape hit suppliers.
