The film and  photo gallery from the Women in Meat Industry Awards 2019 is now live, following the recent glittering awards dinner and presentation ceremony in London. To capture a flavour of the evening just click here.

Broadcaster and radio presenter, Katie Derham, presented the 10 winners with their trophies and certificates. The event rewards outstanding female talent across the UK meat sector and attracted nearly 7,000 votes for finalists this year. She said: “When people have worked so hard it is so important to give them the recognition they deserve.”

The Awards are driven by reader nominations and votes via the market leading Meat Management magazine, with an expert judging panel gathering to select the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year who is selected from one of the other category winners.

This year, the overall accolade went to Lucianne Allen, Sales & Marketing Director of Aubrey Allen who said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won this award. This initiative is just tremendous and so, so important to acknowledge the incredible talent there is in this fabulous and glorious meat industry. Fantastic evening. If this spurs more people to come into our great industry so much the better.”

Meat Management editor, Pam Brook said: “In an ever-changing commercial climate, it remains vitally important that we continue to move with the times and embrace diversity and the fantastic pool of talent available.

“Tonight at the Awards ceremony we once again celebrated the meat industry’s giant strides in this area with our colleagues and friends. Lucianne is a very worthy winner of the Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award, having won the wholesaling category in 2018. Of course, in addition, we had a brilliant selection of women confirmed as winners across all the categories this evening. It has been a great night!”

The category winners and all the finalists, as voted for by readers of Meat Management magazine can be found at the womeninmeatawards.com website, just click here.
