Food Standards Scotland (FSS) has announced an eight-week consultation on the introduction of new food ‘compliance notices’ (CNs), to help enforcement officers deal more fairly and quickly with suspected food standards contraventions.
At its September Board meeting, FSA members voted in favour of the publishing of an annual report on food standards, to be launched in 2022.
A trio of appointments has been announced for the Board of Food Standards Scotland, the first since its formation in 2015.
New legislation, which will require food businesses in Scotland to provide the product name and full ingredients, including allergen information on pre-packed for direct sale (PPDS) foods, has been put before the Scottish Parliament.
